Magical Milford At Xmas

Magical Milford at Christmas

This was established 4 years ago by Tracy and Diana . At that time, the ladies felt more could be done in the village at Christmas, to make the village Green and surrounding area look festive and appealing to all ages.

Substantial investment has been made buying outdoor quality lights and increasing the amount of Christmas trees to the green. The event has grown considerably and now includes Carols on the Green, along with the switching on of the lights. Each year, when all lights and decorations are removed, Tracy and Diana ask as many as possible to complete a survey, asking for feedback on the displays and any other requests people may have.

In 2022, on the 2nd December, Milford On Sea Primary School Choir will be leading the Carol Service and will include popular carols and songs to get the festivities off to a magical start. Father Christmas will be in his grotto, take away food available from various eateries, along with the usual restaurant and pubs being open. Some of the shops will be open for late night shopping.

The village green display will include a forest of trees with reindeer, a nativity scene, decorated benches, litter bin tops, phone box and post box. There will be lots of twinkling lights and traders will have trees above their shops with multi coloured lights, decorated bicycle wheels on the bridge on Sea Road and on the fence around the Smugglers Pub, there will be several artists boards depicting Christmas scenes.

None of this would be possible without sponsorship and donations, therefore raising the necessary funds each year is critical to the event continuing. We have a Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/MagicalMilford) to keep everyone up to date with what’s happening and a JustGiving page (www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/magicalmilford) as a means of public fundraising.
